History

The Evergreen-Conecuh Chamber of Commerce was organized in the 1950’s to represent local businesses by encouraging residents to shop locally,promoting special events and high volume shopping days. Later the Chamber evolved and began to play an important role in Economic Development. It became involved in programs to encourage manufacturing industries to locate in or near the community, to provide more employment, and to boost the economy.

Today, the Chamber carries on a combination of the roles it has played from the beginning. It also works closely with the Evergreen-Conecuh Development Office and the Industrial Development Board in concerted efforts to encourage and assist in commercial, retail, and industrial growth of existing and prospective businesses.
